Fireproof

I just watched "Fireproof".

You know, the new movie with Kirk Cameron that just came out for rent this past week.

It's awesome. Go rent it. What a great movie!

I can see why it was so popular in the theatres. It really blessed my wife and I.

  4. Hey Matt,

It's tough to name my absolute favorites; I have several. I love true stories, and I love good characters. For instance, Gangs of New York is one of my all-time favorites because Daniel Day-Lewis is such a genius at playing Bill the Butcher. Similarly, Tombstone is one of my favorites because of Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday. Those two performances are fantastic. I also love Brad Pitt as Jesse James in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Casey Affleck was great in that movie, too. And, like I said, I love true stories.

I also love The Passion of the Christ, The Count of Monte Cristo (newer version), The Godfather, Man on Fire (newer version - great picture and soundtrack, Braveheart, Cinderella Man (oh, great movie). I'm sure I am forgetting some important ones.

    What are your favorites?

  5. Hey Tom,

Thanks for your post, brother. Yeah, that movie is definitely worth buying. It's a tear-jerker for sure. And it's so wonderful to see good Christian movies. So many movies that I would have loved were ruined by their copious use of GDs and JCs! That just makes me want to rip my ears off.

What is the journal you write?

  6. SinnerSaved,

    I see you're into Westerns? A very under-rated genre, I must say.

My favourites change, but consistently high on the list are; Godfather I, Shawshank Redemption, Amelie, Sunshine, Fight Club, Usual Suspects, Serenity, Persepolis, Metropolis, Network, Batman Begins, Wall-E and on and on and on...

I do love my movies and I'm currently awaiting the release of the Watchmen movie; should be good.

  7. Ha. I guess I do like Westerns. I've always had an affinity for the "old-fashioned".

And I definitely agree on Usual Suspects. That's one I forgot to list. Best ending in cinematic history, for sure. It was on TV last week, actually. I turned it on just in time to catch the last half-hour.
